Eating healthy can be challenging when you’re super busy. I’m a full-time student and part-time nanny. I commute to classes in the city, take walks in a nearby park, and I spend time blogging. I’m very involved in my local church and I consider myself pretty social, so I guess you could say… I’m busy! But not too busy to care about making smart choices. So, what’s the key to eating well and keeping up with a hectic schedule?? Healthy options for on-the-go eating. Today I want to share some of my faves with you!
This is a tasty little lunch I threw together featuring a simple salad with salsa, carrots, an omelet, gluten free pretzels, and an apple! I packed it and ate it in class. (You have to be able to deal with eggs that are no longer hot off the grill! Hard boiled works just as well.) So easy, inexpensive, tasty and balanced!
Hello healthy Panera Bread! How’s a girl to eat gluten free at a place with the word BREAD in their name?? Cue this yummy salad with avocado! I love ordering salads because you can skip certain ingredients and keep the ones you like. For example, I kept the avocado, bacon, tomato, chicken, and egg (gluten, dairy, and soy free), but I skipped the cheese and croutons! Also, I got a black bean soup and an apple for my sides!
How about you?! How do you eat healthy while on-the-go?

So I can make sure I’m eating healthy on the go I tend to make sure I prep my meals in advance when I know I have a busy day/week ahead! Lately I’ve been loving egg bakes as a quick and delicious on the go meal option!

April 18, 2016 at 9:37 pmYour Whole Foods hot bar tips are genius! Microwaving your own sweet potato and grabbing an orange out of your cart instead of taking orange slices from the salad bar are brilliant ways to save money so the hot bar isn’t quite as expensive. I rarely eat at the hot bar since I can easily spend $12+ dollars without even feeling like I get much food, but I’ll have to try it your way 🙂
April 18, 2016 at 8:25 pmThanks girl!! I eat there all the time, so I’ve gotten it down to less than $4 for a salad!! All about bringing my own stuff cuz it can add up quick!!
April 18, 2016 at 9:36 pmPacking my own food is a must when I want to have produce-packed nutrtious meals while out and about. There don’t seem to be by far as many healthy options when eating out. Gluten-free, for example, would likely be a struggle at most places though I don’t know from experience.
April 26, 2016 at 10:41 pmOh and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one stocking fruit and vegetables in her car – or at times bag ;).
