“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” -Jim Rohn
We all know the importance of eating LESS & moving MORE. I mean that’s how you lose weight, right?? About five years ago I lost 35 pounds and it took me a solid year and a half. Clearly I believe in the ‘slow and steady’ approach. Since then, I’ve focused on maintaining a healthy weight and I must say, I totally enjoy the process.
These days I’m obsessed with nourishing my body. Whether that means eating a delicious meal of healthy nourishing REAL foods, or waking up early and heading to the gym, taking time to nourish myself and to practice self love doesn’t just mean I eat LESS and move MORE. I also make sure to prioritize sleep, spend quality time with those I love, treat myself to daily dark chocolate, and take time to reflect on life in my journal.
When it comes to taking care of my body, I know how important it is to ‘fuel up’. I never skimp on nutrition. One of my favorite ways to nourish? EAT REAL FOOD. I make sure to enjoy a balance of carbohydrates for quick energy, protein to keep me full, and healthy fat to keep me satisfied.
One of my fave EVER protein bars? Go Macro! They’re totally gluten free, dairy free, soy free (obviously, otherwise I couldn’t eat them LOL) and they’re also totally plant based for all you vegans out there! GO Macro provides me with a delicious burst of energy that fuels me up and keeps me going. There is never an ounce of guilt when I satisfy my healthy cravings with a little “protein paradise” peanut butter chocolate chip or cashew caramel. Or how about some “everlasting joy” coconut almond butter chocolate chip? Okay, now I’m hungry.
How about you? How do you stay fueled up??

May 6, 2017 at 12:13 amIt’s wonderful how you are so vigilant and so good at nourishing your body with good food, friend time, reflection, exercise, and sleep. I always love seeing how balanced you are Cailee; and your love for dark chocolate always makes me crave chocolate.
April 29, 2017 at 2:30 pmThanks Em! You know I’m all about that balance! Yay for dark chocolate time!
May 6, 2017 at 12:14 amYep, staying fueled up is so important for our fitness! When I got the stomach flu a couple of weeks ago and didn’t eat much for a couple of days, I was amazed at how weak I felt the first time I tried to workout again. Good fuel is so important for being active!

May 1, 2017 at 4:04 amI’m sorry you were sick! But I’m glad you’re feeling better now! Hope you have a lovely weekend Liv!
May 6, 2017 at 12:16 amDo you eat soy lecithen? I can barely find ANYTHING without this ingredient and am wondering how you handle all your food in tolerances at home and in restaurants…?
May 3, 2017 at 7:22 pmI do eat soy lecithin… I find that I handle that find, but it’s the soy protein that kills me! And I usually go for thai food, soup from this gluten free restaurant, and sushi! Just a few of my faves that I can eat!
May 6, 2017 at 12:13 amI definitely work out a lot – but I fuel myself a lot with high-quality foods, that I know I am doing my body a whole bunch of good – and ummmm I think EVERYONE knows how I like to fuel myself… SALMON! hahahahaha! I am utterly obsessed, you have NO CLUE!
May 6, 2017 at 2:03 amHi Cailee! I just stumbled across your blog and love it! Girl, you are just the cutest ever. I can’t wait to explore more. That sushi looks super yum and I LOVE Go Macro bars. I’m a nurse, so No-Cow bars are my favorite protein bar for long shifts. I also love hummus, lots of hummus, peanut butter, and tons of fruit/veggies. Have a great weekend, love!
May 6, 2017 at 4:56 amMackenzie! You’re so sweet! Thanks so much for your kind words! Yay for hummus! And I need to checkout No- Cow bars! Also- just opened your blog and I can’t wait to check it out! You and DJ are so cute!
May 12, 2017 at 3:33 pmI always joke that the reason why I do workout so much is so that I can eat allll the food! 😉
May 6, 2017 at 1:44 pmI still need to grab myself one of those Go Macro bars though. I see them everywhere and they sound amazing. Maybe I’ll grab some for my upcoming trip!
It is so important to eat real food. My fuel up staple is a baked potato with chunky cottage cheese. I very seldom eat protein bars, but there is always one close by for emergencies 🙂
May 8, 2017 at 5:46 amI am right there with ya on the eating real food thing, Cailee! Not only does it taste better, but it’s so much better for you. I haven’t seen those bars yet, but I’ll keep an eye out for them next time I’m in the store. I’m actually heading out to the airport soon, and I always pack protein bars for snacks when I’m flying. Way better (and way cheaper) than airport food! Hope you have a great week, my friend!
May 8, 2017 at 12:03 pmPeople rarely realize just how important enough quality sleep is to health, so I love that you mentioned that! For me, just making an effort to have a regular bedtime and wakeup time since graduating has made SUCH a difference in my health and energy levels.
May 9, 2017 at 1:41 amI’ve recently started to work out properly and regularly and I feel it’s more important than ever to fuel myself. I love such bars to keep me going! 🙂
May 9, 2017 at 12:37 pmWait you’ve been going to the gym?? I know you aren’t typically a gym goer, so good for you! I also know that you’re big on walking, which I totally am too. I just got back from taking my dog for a nice walk!
