Banana “NICE CREAM”

Picture IMG_0700

Yum!  Who doesn’t love bananas?  They’re so sweet, filling and satisfying!  When you freeze them, they get even better!

One night my friend Sarah and I decided that we wanted something sweet and tasty that still left our tummies feeling awesome and our bodies feeling nourished.  That’s why we decided to make banana ice cream.  Genius!!

I’d call it “nice cream” because it’s far better than ice cream!  It’s sweet and creamy, but unlike commercial ice cream it has no added sugar or sweeteners, it’s vegan and it’s healthy!  Win-win-win!

Banana “NICE CREAM”
Ingredients:
3 bananas, chopped and frozen
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (more or less as needed)
chopped mango and strawberries

Directions:
Blend bananas with almond milk, pour into 2 bowls and enjoy with a friend!

*Feel free to use other toppings as desired!  Dark chocolate chips, chopped nuts, honey, and other fruits work great as well!

If I don’t feel like whipping out the blender sometimes I’ll just have a plain frozen banana!!  Pop one in the freezer and then when it’s frozen and you’re ready to enjoy it, simply place the whole banana under hot water for about 30 seconds.  This loosens the peel while still keeping the banana chilled!!

I love to eat a frozen banana with a bit of chocolate peanut butter and chopped banana chips for a healthy treat that tastes like ice cream!  ‘Perfect for No Gain November’!!

How about you guys?  Do you have any favorite treats that you make healthier?  How is your ‘No Gain November’ going?
